I participated in a 6-day design sprint to create a learning solution using Articulate Storyline. Drawing from my experience as a tour guide at Taza Chocolate Factory, I reimagined the tour experience as an online module. To meet the tight deadline, I applied the SAM model, an agile instructional design approach focused on rapid iteration.

For this design sprint, I revisited Taza Chocolate Factory in Somerville to gather educational materials and observe a tour. If this were an actual business case, I would have facilitated a Savvy Start meeting with the tours manager and a newly trained guide. Together, we would brainstorm ways to enhance tour guide training and collaboratively develop prototypes.

Version 2 - Powerpoint mockup
Version 3 - Powerpoint mockup
Once I completed the full visual mockup (Version 3), I conducted a review with two users. Their main feedback included: a) the block of text felt overwhelming, and b) drag-and-drop interactions were unclear. In response, I revised the design by: a) breaking the text into more digestible paragraphs and b) clearly highlighting drop zones for better interaction guidance.

Gold Version - interactivity fully built in Storyline
After completing the beta version, I conducted a review with two additional users. Their feedback highlighted: a) the text remained difficult to read, b) the videos were unclear, and c) the playback bar made it hard to revisit previous screens. In response, I: a) simplified the text to short sentences and bolded key terms for easier skimming, b) added captions to clarify each video scene, and c) enabled users to navigate freely within the module.
